Medium Giant brings home 6 MarCom Awards for marketing excellence

Medium Giant is stoked to announce our agency has won six 2022 MarCom Awards, an international creative competition for marketing and communication professionals. Winners are selected in more than 300 categories for print media, digital media, and strategic communications. This year, there were more than 6,000 entries from around the world.

These awards validate what we already know: We have some of the most talented people working in the marketing industry. These awards are for each and every Medium Giant employee who contributed to the success of these client accounts.

Medium Giant took home three platinum awards, three gold, and one honorable mention.

Platinum Awards

Moody Center

Category: Digital Media | Social Media | Social Ad Campaign

Austin is known for tacos, hipster vibes, and live music — with a lot of cool venues. So when a $375 million, state-of-the-art arena designed for music, sports, and other local events showed up on the scene, it needed to generate maximum excitement and main-stage presence.

To help this new concert venue stand out in the city known as the “Live Music Capital of the World,” we developed a visual identity for the center and a logo for the inaugural event, followed by print ads, mural design, digital venue signage templates, and, of course, a social media campaign for which we received the recognition.

Medium Giant Tourism Book

Category: Print Media | Marketing/Promotion/Materials | Promotional Item

Medium Giant has many clients in the tourism industry. This coffee-table book inspires a sense of wanderlust while showcasing some of our favorite destination work.

Medium Giant Website

Category: Digital Media | Website | Marketing, PR, Advertising Agency

We designed our own website, following the principles we preach to our clients and adhering to our website hierarchy of needs. We start with accessibility, then build on that to create a digital experience that is functional, usable, meaningful, and impactful.

Just as we are with our clients, we were strategic in our decision-making, striving to find the intersections of user needs and business needs. We overhauled our existing website with a sound information architecture and taxonomy, flexible block system for the content management system (CMS), and, naturally, a bold design reflective of our brand.

Gold Awards

Martin County, Florida

Category: Print Media | Marketing – Ads | Advertising Campaign

This campaign aspired to show people that no matter their mood, they’re “always in the mood for Martin.” The overall look and feel is mysterious and nostalgic, with tactile elements that seem as if they’ve fallen from a scrapbook — remnants from a previous family vacation or another world.

We used existing watercolor brand elements as a segue for this mixed-media, collage-style approach. Type nuggets reveal the coordinates of the beach destination while adding an additional layer of intrigue. This ethereal campaign inspires curiosity and leaves people wanting more.

Cotton Bowl Athletic Association

Category: Strategic Communications | Marketing/Promotion Campaign | Branding Refresh

With its first game dating back to 1937, the Cotton Bowl is rich in history, and it deserves a brand that both honors that legacy and takes the Cotton Bowl into the future.

We focused our efforts on respecting and elevating the only “classic” bowl on and off the field. From yard lines to bloodlines, the Cotton Bowl reminds us of the value of experiencing the game of football together. Inspired by the Cotton Bowl trophy, our team came up with a graphic element called The Eternal Crossroad that represents the convergence of the many teams and fans who attend the event.

Our work establishes modern connections and prompts viewers to make their own mark on this ever-expanding, traditional event.

Sauk County first engaged us to unify the county through a single brand identity and design language. After conducting a complete brand immersion, we completed an identity system and a campaign called “Land Made.”
Next step was to build Sauk County a tourism website, which launched in March 2022. Inspired by our brand work, we created a digital experience that virtually transports visitors to this naturally beautiful part of Wisconsin, where the land not only drives the community and its way of life, but it also becomes essential to the experiences of the people looking to escape.

Category: Digital Media | Website | Tourism

We have been Ulster County’s agency of record since 2017 — almost as long as they have needed a new website. Our relationship started with a brand immersion, when we discovered that Ulster County is full of entrepreneurial people who attract and cater to those who seek the new, the undiscovered, the authentic experience. That led us to “Seek for Yourself,” a campaign they use to this day.

In July 2022, we finally were able to tackle Ulster County’s aging tourism website, which was not only clunky for users, but also difficult to manage by content administrators. The overhaul included a new CMS (transition from Drupal to WordPress), information architecture, content, and design. Our goal was to invite visitors to “seek for themselves” on the website in anticipation of a trip to this special place in upstate New York.
