Ulster County Tourism Case Study
The Opportunity
We were hired to help attract overnight visitors to this remote area of upstate New York known for its rugged beauty and its Dirty Dancing-era heyday. Amid the many communities in the Hudson River Valley, how could we help Ulster County distinguish itself in a powerful, authentic way?
The Strategy
During our immersive brand research, we discovered that Ulster County is full of entrepreneurial people running bars, restaurants, shops, guide services, and more. They attract and cater to those who seek the new, the undiscovered, the authentic experience. That led us to “Seek for Yourself.”
In July 2022, we completed an overhaul of Ulster County’s tourism website. The rebuild included a new CMS (a transition from Drupal to WordPress), as well as new information architecture, content, and design. We anticipate it will serve Ulster County for years to come.
The Results
We’ve been Ulster County’s agency of record since 2017. Results continue to exceed expectations, thanks to having a strong brand and continuing to invest throughout multiple changes in county leadership, along with the uncertainties of a lingering pandemic.
