The Opportunity

Famous for The Dells, Sauk County needed a distinctive identity that could unite the county across tourism and economic development. While The Dells attracted significant visitation, other areas weren’t seeing the same attention or economic benefits.
The opportunity was to encourage visitors to explore more of the region while creating a stronger platform for prospective businesses, residents, and community partners. Sauk County needed a brand that reflected the character of its people, celebrated the influence of its landscape, and positioned the entire county as a place to visit, live, work, and grow.

The Strategy

We immersed ourselves in Sauk County to understand its people, priorities, culture, and competitive landscape. That insight led to a unified brand platform, a new website ecosystem, and ongoing marketing and economic development initiatives built around one central idea: Land Made.

Immersion for Authentic Insight

We partnered with county leadership, stakeholders, and community members to experience Sauk County from the inside out. By exploring the region firsthand, talking with locals, and leading workshops with community leaders, we uncovered the authentic insights that shaped the brand strategy and creative direction.

Our immersion revealed how deeply the land influences Sauk County’s way of life, work ethic, creativity, and sense of community. From that insight, we created Land Made, a unifying brand platform supported by a complete identity system, custom illustrations, badge-inspired design, typography, wayfinding, and nature-driven visual language.

Digital Experiences for Exploration and Investment

We reimagined Sauk County’s digital presence through two audience-first websites. ExploreSaukCounty.com inspires visitors to discover the region through intuitive navigation, accessible design, strategic content, and an SEO-focused architecture. InvestSaukCounty.com supports economic development by attracting businesses, investors, and workforce growth.
