The Question

Founded by Norwegian immigrants, Decorah and the surrounding Winneshiek County in northeast Iowa have become a haven for natural living and progressive thought. How could we attract visitors to this unique destination tucked into the geography known as the Driftless?

The Answer

To put it simply, we leaned into Decorah’s roots. During our brand immersion process, we spent a full week in the area, getting to know the county and its community members to unearth essential truths about the place the glaciers missed. As is often the case with our clients, Decorah had no brand to speak of, so we manifested it.

With a brand strategy and visual identity in place, we launched an advertising campaign — from programmatic display and paid social to print, outdoor, and podcast audio. We also built a visitor-friendly website that better represents these hardy Iowans who drift less and do more.
